Volunteer Your Time

Volunteering with IFSSA is a great way to give back to your community, connect with new people and learn skills. Volunteers are the lifeblood of IFSSA. Your volunteer hours can be counted as school or court mandated community service hours. 

Our volunteers sit on our Board of Directors, are on our youth Leadership Team, create weekly food hampers for those most in need, take our clients to their appointments, provide translation services and support to newcomer families, feed the hungry at Boyle Street Community Services, and so much more. Above all else, our volunteers are the friendly and smiling faces of IFSSA. When clients come through our doors, filled with anxiety and worry, our volunteers’ warm smiles are what welcome them in. And for that, we are grateful.

Would you like to offer your services to those in need? 

IFSSA is continuously looking for ways to connect generous people in the community with those who need help. Examples include:  
  • Driving people to appointments
  • Translating for clients
  • Truck drivers helping elderly people with moving
  • Pharmacist waving their dispensing fees
  • Dentists, optometrist, and specialists seeing patients pro bono
  • Photographers lending their artistic talent to an event
  • Lawyers providing training to staff and legal guidance to clients 

DONATE A CAR!
Donate a Car Canada accepts Vehicle Donations for IFSSA! Free towing is provided in most areas across Canada, or you can drop off your vehicle to maximize your donation. When you donate your car, truck, RV, boat, or motorcycle to IFSSA through Donate A Car Canada, it will either be recycled or sold at auctions (depending on its condition, age and location). Donate a Car Canada will look after all the details to make it easy for IFSSA to benefit. After your vehicle donation is complete, our charity will send you a tax receipt and will put your gift to good use. Click here to donate a vehicle.
