Junior Accountant
We are seeking a dedicated Junior Accountant to join our dynamic team, contributing to our commitment to making a positive impact in the community. As a Junior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in the financial success of IslamicFamily by supporting internal reporting, budgeting, and strategic planning. Your responsibilities will encompass monthly financial reporting, grant cash flow updates, and ensuring excellence in reporting and transparency.
Peer Support & Cultural Navigator
The Green Room is an IslamicFamily youth programming initiative. The Green Room provides an open and safe space for Edmonton’s youth to foster meaningful connections, engage in dialogue, and support youth and young adults in their personal growth. The Green Room hosts events and programs that support youth wellness, advocate for the mental health and cultural needs of Muslim students in high schools and universities, and offer culturally and religiously inclusive peer support and counselling.
Volunteer: Airport Greeter
Refugee sponsorship is our way of supporting those afflicted by war and disaster to begin new lives and flourish. Airport welcomes are our first point of contact with resettled refugees. It is an opportunity for us to greet newcomers with collective community care and outward compassion. We are joined at these airport welcomes by IslamicFamily staff and volunteers, the newcomers' relatives and loved ones, and Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society. Bent Arrow helps us welcome our new arrivals with indigenous song and dance and a treaty proclamation.
