Mirrors is a mentorship program aimed at connecting Muslim youth from diverse cultures and experiences with mentors who understand and can support their healthy self-identity and expression.
As mirrors of one another, mentors and mentees will build meaningful connections over a year of fun activities and support each other’s journey of growth.
Issue II: Homecoming
The second Issue of Roots of Resilience is about exploring the nuances of home, belonging, and place in Canada.
Home means something different for everyone. For multigenerational newcomers and Indigenous Peoples, we often struggle with legacies of being uprooted or displaced from community; home and place can be sites of friction, but they can also be the places we find the most comfort and community. Homecoming is about defining home for ourselves.
Submission are now open for Issue II. Submissions can be in the form of visual art, writing (poetry, fiction, non-fiction, recipes, etc.), photography, film, or any other form of storytelling and expression.
IFSSA offers culturally and spiritually sensitive counselling for youth, through our Youth Wellness Lead & Chaplain, Ibrahim Long. Appointments can be made online.
