Healthy Muslim Families and Community
To meet the basic physical and emotional needs of the community within an Islamic context.
Islamic Family and Social Services Association is hoping to raise an estimated $30,000 this year from fundraising initiatives. The money raised will be going to provide essential needs services and to support other objectives of the organization. It will cost our organization an estimated $2,000 to organize these fundraising initiatives.
IFSSA is proud to be the only social service organization in the city of Edmonton which provides a completely Halal food to all of its clients. Halal is the Arabic word for permissible. In order for food to meet the this Islamic dietary criteria, meat products are slaughtered according to Islamic guidelines and food must be free of alcohol and pork products/by-products. This does not exclude anyone from eating the food but rather is a service that we feel is necessary for those people in need who are Muslim. IFSSA offers its foodbank to all those in need regardless of race, gender or religious affiliation.
The following is a list of most needed food items. Please donate generously.
The clothing bank is another resource which is made available to our clients through donations from community members.
Please wash and sort your donated clothing according to male, female, and childrens. IFSSA accepts all clothing with the exception of clothing that is worn out, soiled, or ripped.
Monetary donations go a long way in supporting our operations, programs, and services. IFSSA also provides the service of distributing Zakaat (obligatory charity) and Sadaqa (voluntary charity).
Please make cheques payable to IFSSA. Or press the donate button above to donate online.
